Sarah Atkins' Bio

  Sarah Atkins received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Randolph-Macon College and earned her Juris Doctor at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2012. Sarah discovered a passion for helping the disabled during law school while working with the Florida Coastal Disabilities and Public Benefits Clinic and Jacksonville Area Legal Aid to help low income persons with the Social Security disability claims process.  After graduation, Sarah continued to pursue this passion by representing disabled clients at Social Security disability hearings. Deana focuses her practice on Veterans’ law. She is an accredited attorney with the Veterans Administration and is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and South Carolina. Education:  University of South Carolina, B.S. Business Administration, 1988.  Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, 2012. Deana is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, and the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (“NOVA”). Deana is a native of Point Pleasant, New Jersey and has lived in Charlotte since 1991. She has been married to her husband, Mark, since 1991 and together they have 2 children. Deana is the daughter of a Navy veteran, granddaughter-in-law to a WWII and Korean War veteran, and her daughter currently attends a United States Federal Service Academy. She is dedicated, committed and passionate about representing and assisting veterans through the claim and appeals process before the Veterans Administration and the Board
